BlairLouise.com has bath wraps…and do you want to know why that is such a good thing…? You could go on vacation with nieces & a nephew and get out of the shower to apply lotion or dry your hair or WHATEVER and turn around to see 6 sets of eyes watching you…in the nude!! These little eyes could just wonder in after they have crawled under your balcony without you knowing it!! It could be quit embarrassing… Wrap up people…I’m just saying….

Earth Day-

As Blair mentioned in a recent post it’s a small world after all. She is our resident blogger. She has a lot to say and a funny way of saying it!!! She had a great way to tie in the small world theme today for Earth Day… But as she mentioned in another recent post – she is now living in South Africa. She and her family have been living in South Africa for over 8 months now. Her life quite drastically changed after having moved from Alabama, where she and her husband have grown up, to South Africa where they and their children are constantly learning the difference between life in ‘the south’ as compared with life in South Africa. She couldn’t write this blog post because her internet has been down for days- not an uncommon occurrence in her new area of the world. The time difference and lack of ease of communication has been a lesson in keeping in touch. They now communicate mostly with friends they’ve made in their area. A fun mix of ex-pats, Afrikaans, and lots of folks from around the world- each with their own backgrounds, cultures and personalities. Blair is having a blast and learning a lot. One thing that holds true and continues to grow with these new experiences is her love of the Earth! Earth day is a day that we at BlairLouise hold near and dear. It’s an important day here in Alabama, for the United States, in South Africa- and for the world at large! If we don’t take care of our surroundings now- what is going to happen in the future?

So…

It’s Earth Day. Started in 1970 Earth Day is an annual day on which events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network and is celebrated in more than 192 countries every year. It’s an important day for all us- from small town Alabama to big world travelers- and we should try to find a way to help out- big or small. One small way we try to help is that we try (and prefer although it doesn’t happen with every item) to choose items for our site that are earth-friendly.

It’s A Small World…

Living in South Africa has given me the opportunity to really appreciate the world we live in…it really is a small world. There is beauty and amazement no matter where you are on this earth! It is a shame that we are destroying it every day… the air, the water, the plant life, the animals (like the rhino that I am so passionate about right now!), even each other! Our children’s children will not live in the same world we live in today – that is unless we “do” something about it. Monday, April 22nd is Earth Day. We should all try to remember what a small world it is and work towards saving this beautiful earth we call home!
